  1. I am looking for a certain quote from the series. How can I find it?
Chances are the quote you are looking for is already listed on this website. Check out the top quotes for each episode in the Episodes section. Or use the search facility (see link at the bottom of each page) to find the quote. Remember to use alternative spelling within the search facility, if you do not find it at the first attempt. If you do not find it this way, you can contact us.
  1. I have found an error/omission in the database. Who do I report it to?
If you have found errors or omissions in the database - or any other part of the website - please contact us. We will try to correct this as soon as possible.
  1. I cannot find more background information on the series. Where is it?
This is still work in progress. In the future you can expect an actor database (including pictures of the cast), improved airing lists and voting ability, an online Yes (Prime) Minister quiz and a mailing list.
  1. Why are there no detailed scripts of Yes (Prime) Minister on this website?
We would like to have the episode scripts available on The Yes (Prime) Minister Files. However, we have not been able to locate any up till now. If you have scripts available, we would appreciate letting us know.
  1. I am looking for certain episodes on video or DVD. Can you help me?
Information regarding the availability of Yes (Prime) Minister episodes on video, DVD, audio cassette or books is published in the Video/DVD section of this website. In this section you can also find links to online stores that sell these. The Yes (Prime) Minister Files website is not involved in selling these materials itself.
  1. Do you have more information regarding upcoming releases on video or DVD?
We know that a lot of people are looking for this sort of information. Therefore, any information we learn on this subject is immediately published in the Video/DVD section. It is pointless to email us for further details, as all are already published. We have regular contact with the BBC regarding upcoming releases. However, if you have learned about releases not listed in the Video/DVD section, please let us know.
  1. I know about an upcoming release on video/DVD that is not listed on your website. How can I share this with your visitors?
If you have any release info that is currently not published in the Video/DVD section, please email us immediately. We will publish this immediately, since a lot of people are looking for this type of information. We appreciate you sharing this with your fellow fans.
  1. Why are the series not fully released on video/DVD?
We would also like to see every episode released on video/DVD. However, the BBC will want to make a profit on releasing any new tapes/discs. And realistically, the market for Yes (Prime) Minister episodes is a lot smaller than for comedies such as Absolutely Fabulous or Blackadder. This certainly applies to regions such as the Middle East, Africa or South America. The only thing we can do is continue to ask the BBC to release the remaining episodes. Looking at the past releases of the BBC (Party Games on video and the recent DVD releases), it looks like they will continue to bring new releases in the future.
  1. Is this website related to the BBC?
No, this website is owned and managed by a fellow fan. It is in no way directly related to the BBC. In fact, there is no official BBC Yes (Prime) Minister website. That is the reason for existence of this website.
  1. Are there any plans for a sequel to Yes Prime Minister?
In the past there have been rumours of a sequel to Yes Prime Minister. It was said that the writers were planning a series called "Yes My Lord", where Hacker would become a member of the House of Lords. With the death of Paul Eddington, these plans were cancelled. Today, the only lead character alive is Derek Fowlds (Bernard Woolley). So no original cast sequel is possible.
In 2001 a Hindi version of the Yes Minister was first aired. This series - called Ji Mantriji - used original plot lines from Yes Minister and was adapted for the Indian market. Check out the link section for more information on the Indian version.
  1. I use Internet Explorer 5.0/Netscape/Opera: the website layout looks horrible and/or I cannot click the links. What is wrong?
In 2002 this website was redesigned and implemented with a relatively new technology called CSS positioning. Although this technology in theory should work with the newer versions of the Netscape/Opera browsers, after implementation it turned out that these browsers did not support it properly. Even though this website conforms to HTML standards. We have tried to solve this problem, but have found no solution yet. This site works properly when using Microsoft Internet Explorer starting from version 5.5. Valid HTML 4.01!
  1. What do I need to play the audio and video excerpts?
The audio and video excerpts can be played using RealOne Player. You can download a free basic version at Real.com.
  1. I manage a website. Can you add it to the Links section of The Yes (Prime) Minister Files?
We are happy to put a link to your website if it is directly related to the Yes (Prime) Minister series. Since we want to provide links that are interesting for this site's visitors, it is our policy not to include general links. We will also not add any links to pages that are again a collection of other links. If you feel your website is directly related, please contact us for adding it.
  1. One of your links is broken. What to do?
It may be that the site is temporarily down. In that case, try again later. Or that it is permanently down, in which case we will delete the link. We check our links regularly, but if you find a broken link, we appreciate it if you report this to us.
